Where to get your Nova Post API key

Getting an API key from your Nova Post account and connecting it to Poshta.

Poshta acts on behalf of your own Nova Post counterparty. Every waybill is created against your contract, and the rates and terms stay exactly what you agreed with the carrier. We are not an intermediary in the settlement.

Getting the key

  1. Sign in to your Nova Poshta account.
  2. Go to Settings → Security → API keys.
  3. Create a new key with permission to create express waybills.
  4. Copy the value — it is shown in full only once.

Connecting it

In the app, open Settings, paste the key into Nova Post API key and save. The app makes a test request and shows the counterparty name the key belongs to. If it matches your company, you’re connected.

If the key is rejected

  • A stray space when copying. The most common cause — check the start and end of the string.
  • The key lacks waybill permissions. Check the key type in your Nova Post account.
  • The contract is inactive. The key is technically valid but waybill creation is blocked on the carrier’s side; the error text will say so.

Security

The key is stored encrypted and used only for requests to the Nova Post API on behalf of your store. It is never shown in full after saving and never shared with third parties.
